The Society was formed in 1987 and is affiliated to the <a href=\"https:\/\/iao.org.uk\/\">Incorporated Association of Organists<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Membership is open to anyone. We presently have about 50 members throughout Cumbria and surrounding districts, including players of all abilities from professionals to beginners, and others who do not play the organ at all but who enjoy organ music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our varied programme of events typically includes &#8216;organ crawls&#8217; to locations in and around Cumbria, training days for organists and choirmasters, and demonstration lectures on technique and repertoire. There is no requirement to play at any of these informal events, and certainly no scrutiny by fellow members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to this website, we send regular mailings to members and can include adverts for events in these.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The subscription year for membership runs from 1<sup>st<\/sup> April to 31<sup>st<\/sup> March. The standard fee is presently \u00a314.
